Job Title: Controller
Department: Finance
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to join our dynamic team service oriented business, in the beauty/fashion industry generating approximately $32 million in annual revenue. The ideal candidate will possess a strong financial acumen, proven accounting skills, and expertise in managing complex financial operations. They will be responsible for overseeing the entire accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic financial insights to support the bushiness's growth and profitability.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the entire accounting function, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and inventory management.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to maintain sound financial controls.
  • Manage and analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Provide financial forecasts and projections to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and other senior management team members to develop and implement strategic financial initiatives.
  • Oversee the preparation of tax returns and manage tax compliance activities.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and guidance to ensure their professional development.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of experience as a Controller or Senior Accountant (Cash Basis)
  • Proven expertise in financial reporting, accounting principles, and financial analysis
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and applicable tax laws
  • Experience with financial software systems, such as QuickBooks or SAP
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
