Prizes? I love prizes!
We love prizes too! However the person writing this does not make the podium often, thus I am usually left with a swag bag full of stickers, experimental gels, sometimes some great socks, and a shirt with a 1000 sponsors' names on it.
This event is different- as in if you complete the challenge, you are eligible for some amazing prizes. Please bear in mind this event is free; when purchasing new gear remember those who provided you some love and motivation during the Virtual Covid5k. Those providing the love are:

Yo, Athlete!
We’re stoked you want to participate in what could be your most challenging 5K ever. Our hope is this challenge will keep you motivated during this unprecedented time by keeping your physical stamina in check, but more importantly keeping the squirrels out of your head!
Read this... No seriously Read it!
We’re taking this pandemic seriously and you need to as well. During your training you must adhere to the social/physical distancing guidelines provided by various organizations that know a lot more about viruses than us. For example the CDC, WHO, and other organizations who derive their information from people with alphabets behind their name (Ph.D, MD, ... you get the idea).
Please be responsible: Trainers, treadmills, stairs, roads, loops around graveyards, isolated trails, stadium stairs are all acceptable training grounds for this challenge.

How it Works- Ch. 5
Starting on Tuesday, April 28, the goal will be to complete the elevation for either Everest or Denali (or there alternative qualifications) within 7 days. If you complete either elevation challenge by Tuesday, May, 5, then you are qualified to run the 5k! At some point on Cinco De Mayo you must complete your 5k and upload to the Strava Club. ReName your 5k - COVID5k- Everest or COVID5k Denali, to let us know how you qualified (we'll check). On May 6, we will do a drawing from all participants to see who wins the FABULOUS prizes.
Important Info
“I ran the fastest 5k, do I win the prize?” NO! However you are eligible for the prize drawings and will be acknowledged as a fast human being.
How are prizes awarded? Everyone who completes the COVID 5K has a chance at winning the prizes. If you have a problem with that, or will complain (even privately to you friends) go sign up for a Virtual Triathlon. This challenge is exactly that, a challenge. See if you can complete it; if you can, revel in that!
