Los Bandidos: Rock Creek Race Analysis & Projections

Race Analysis & Strategic Outlook

Monster Energy Series 2026 | Ride Rock Creek Seeding

Based on today's Elite Men's and Women's seeding results, we have a clear blueprint for tomorrow. The course is high-velocity and technical, rewarding riders who can maintain minimum speeds through heavy compressions.

1. Course Breakdown: The 5 Key Sectors

Sector 1: The Sprint (Start-S1) Elite Pace: ~20.5s
Focus: Explosive power. This sets the rhythm. Don't "settle" into the run; attack the gate.
Sector 2: The Tech Gauntlet (S1-S2) Elite Pace: ~42.0s
Focus: Technical composure. This is the longest sector and where 11 Elites DNF'd. Line choice over raw effort here.
Sector 3: Momentum Flow (S2-S3) Elite Pace: ~24.8s
Focus: "Free Speed." Use the Jarrod's Place pumping technique to carry speed through the rollers.
Sector 4: The Pressure Zone (S3-S4) Elite Pace: ~14.5s
Focus: Physical resilience. A short, intense burst where many riders begin to fade. Stay tall.
Sector 5: The Drive (S4-Finish) Elite Pace: ~11.0s
Focus: Final sprint. Empty the tank through the finish line.
Los Bandidos Track Note: "The data shows the biggest gaps open in Sector 2. Most riders lose time by 'over-riding'—panic braking into the rocks. Control your speed 5 feet before the tech, then let the bike work through it."

2. Performance Projections: Cat 2/3 Targets

By analyzing the difference between TTC Round 1 and today's seeding, we see Rock Creek is running roughly 18.5% faster than TTC. Below are the calculated targets for to hit a Top-10 pace.

Sector Elite Baseline Cat 2/3 Projected Goal Winning Strategy
Sector 1 20.8s 27.1s Sub-26.5s (Attack the start)
Sector 2 42.0s 54.6s Smooth lines > Hard pedaling
Sector 3 24.8s 32.2s High-speed flow & pump
Sector 4/5 25.4s 33.0s Strong finishing kick
TOTAL TIME 1:53.02 2:26.90 Podium Contention Range

3. Strategic Intelligence for Tomorrow

The "Momentum Factor"

At TTC, Los Bandidos proved we have the best finishing speed in the field. Because Rock Creek is shorter and faster, that late-run momentum is your greatest asset. If you can cross the Split 3 marker at approximately 1:53, you are on track for a career-best result.

  • Identify the DNF Zone: 11 Elite Men failed to finish today. Use the morning practice to session the "red flag" area together. Help each other find the safest, fastest line.
  • Commitment:The biggest opportunity for our riders is increasing commitment in the first 30 seconds. Don't wait for the flow to find you—go find it.
